UK cemented its place as the European FinTech hub attracting over a third of all deals in H1

The UK cemented its place as the European FinTech hub as companies based in the country secured 35% of all deals.

The UK retained its position as the most active European FinTech market in H1 2026, recording 187 deals and a 35% share of total activity.

This compares with 181 deals and a 34% share in H1 2025, a 3% rise in volume that also nudged its proportional standing marginally higher.

Deal volume was broadly stable, rising just 1% from 537 transactions in H1 2025 and 9% from 497 in H2 2025.
