Ant International Expands Agentic Payments Across 10 Major Asian Wallets

Ant International has rolled out the initial phase of its Agentic Mobile Protocol (AMP) across 10 leading digital wallets in Asia, including Alipay, GCash and KakaoPay. The initiative links more than 1.5 billion user accounts to global acquiring partners such as Adyen and Worldline, creating infrastructure for secure AI-enabled autonomous payments.

AMP enables users to grant AI agents permission to carry out clearly defined financial operations without providing unrestricted access to their accounts or requiring them to move between different applications. These permissions are controlled through digital identity verification and trust-based ratings, while the protocol simplifies the connection between AI agents and digital wallets by reducing the number of required integration steps by around 50%.

To support international compatibility and compliance, Ant International is also working with Mastercard and Visa on a Know Your Agent (KYA) interoperability framework. The partners are developing common standards for agent onboarding and risk management. At the same time, AMP’s core source code has been released on GitHub, allowing developers to contribute to and further develop the protocol as an open ecosystem.
