Ripple lands full EU EMI licence from Luxembourg’s CSSF

Ripple, a US-based digital asset infrastructure provider, has secured a full EU Electronic Money Institution (EMI) licence, enabling the company to expand its cross-border payments infrastructure across Europe. The licence has been granted by Luxembourg’s Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF). Ripple joins the likes of cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase and stablecoin paytech Dtcpay, which both secured licence approvals from the CSSF last year. Ripple says it first landed preliminary authorisation for its EU licence last month and has since “fulfilled all conditions required by the CSSF” to obtain full approval.
