Robinhood expands Southeast Asian presence with two acquisitions in Indonesia
US-based trading and investment platform Robinhood is entering the Indonesian market after securing two new acquisition agreements with Indonesian brokerage PT Buana Capital Sekuritas and licensed digital financial asset trader PT Pedagang Aset Kripto. The financial terms of the deals are undisclosed.
Robinhood says the deals will accelerate its expansion across Southeast Asia and align with its vision of “democratising finance for all”. By acquiring these companies, Robinhood aims to tap into an equities and crypto trading market with over 19 million capital market investors and 17 million crypto investors, with the company adding that Indonesia “is a compelling market for equities and crypto trading”.
